Throughout Jesus’ Ministry, the Sermon on the Mount is definitely the most inspiring for me personally, as it deals with the very essence of Christianity and Jesus' teachings. Likewise is art dealing with the event often focused on conveying the message.

The Sermon on the Mount is the first of five important chapters from the Gospel of Matthew dealing with Jesus’ teachings. The sermon epitomizes Jesus Christ and Christian moral values and teachings in many ways, including not only the Golden Rule, but also the Lord’s Prayer and Jesus’ “turn the other cheek” philosophy.

Some scholars and theologists have argued that there are in fact no real mountains in the part of Galilee where the Sermon was held; it was more likely to be a mistranslation and a more accurate description would have been the “Sermon on the Hill”.

There are many similarities between the Gospel of Matthew’s Sermon on the Mount and the Gospel of Luke’s Sermon on the Plain, leading some to believe that the two might be two separate descriptions of the same event.
